Notes:
- I have tried a few meeting transcription tools and Tactiq is by far my favourite. The sidebar shows live transcription in which you can click to highlight something or mark it as a key point or action point so you don’t need to take notes during the call. This helps both you and attendees to be present during the call.
- The sidebar window also contains a box for notes, so you can jot down questions to ask later (useful for ADHDers when trying not to interrupt someone)
- There is a forever free version where you get 10 transcriptions a month free - just ensure you turn the transcription off at the beginning of calls you don’t want to waste a transcription on and delete it!!
- If you need it, it also integrates with a TONNE of tools like Notion, Hubspot, Google Drive, Confluence, Slack etc.
- You can send the transcription to attendees with the click of a button.
- It has an AI feature with which you can create a short or detailed summary with action points. I’ve found this to be incredibly accurate!
- An alternative is Otter, however down to personal preference I don’t like it for a few reasons:
- It “attends” the meeting which I find can feel a bit intrusive
- The apps are very clunky compared to Tactiq
- It has a lot of features I don’t need (but you might!)
- The free version limits to 300 minutes per month and 30 minutes per transcription… so for an hour long meeting it won’t transcribe the full thing. Tactiq is 10 meetings per month and no limit on meeting length
- No in-meeting sidebar to highlight live transcription or notes
